The David Crockett Pioneers put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Cocke County by a score of 58-48.
Despite the loss, Cocke County still got an impressive performance from Kyler Hayes, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. Hayes scored a full 41.7% of Cocke County's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ethan Fine was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
David Crockett's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Cocke County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
David Crockett will look to defend their home court on Friday against Daniel Boone at 6:30 p.m. Daniel Boone knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully David Crockett likes a good challenge. As for Cocke County, they will head out on the road to face off against Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seymour is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
