Xaverian and St. Francis Prep are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Clippers will take on the Terriers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
St. Francis Prep will be up against a hot Xaverian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Clippers' pitchers stepped up to hand Holy Cross a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Jordan Steiger
05/20/25 vs Holy Cross | 8 |
03/29/25 @ Kellenberg Memorial | 6 |
04/30/25 vs Monsignor McClancy | 5 |
04/16/25 @ Archbishop Molloy | 3 |
03/15/25 @ Monsignor Farrell | 3 |
Jordan Steiger looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Patrick Hassel and Lucas Zafra did most of the damage at the plate: Hassel went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Zafra went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Hassel has become a key player for Xaverian: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was John Gilroy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Xaverian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Francis Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over St. Edmund Prep on Tuesday. Considering the Terriers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
St. Francis Prep pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Xaverian, their record is now 10-15.
Everything went Xaverian's way against St. Francis Prep in their previous matchup on Monday, as Xaverian made off with an 18-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
