Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Eagles vs. Jeffersontown Chargers

The Eastern Eagles will head out to face off against the Jeffersontown Chargers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Eastern's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Eastern is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Spencer County: they outscored them in every quarter. Eastern walked away with a 65-52 victory over Spencer County on Tuesday.

Eastern's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rakale Johnson, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Josh Brock was another key player, going 6 of 15 on his way to 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Jeffersontown, as they earned their first road win of the season. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 59-58 victory over Pulaski County.

Jeffersontown's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Eastern, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Eastern barely slipped by Jeffersontown in their previous matchup back in February, winning 57-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eastern since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
