The Central Cambria Red Devils will head out to face off against the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central Cambria will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
While Central Cambria's win against Richland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Devils narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 4-3.

Keira Link made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Ruddek, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westmont Hilltop, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past Bedford 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their matchups with the Bisons: they've now won five in a row.
Like Central Cambria, Westmont Hilltop also got a great game from a two-way player: Addy Dunbar. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Dunbar has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Dunbar wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kelsie Muto, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Central Cambria pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Westmont Hilltop, their record now sits at 12-2.
Westmont Hilltop's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Central Cambria has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Westmont Hilltop, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Central Cambria keep running through batters, or will the Hilltoppers buck the trend?
Central Cambria took their victory against Westmont Hilltop when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
