Mulberry Grove hasn't had much luck against Hillsboro recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Mulberry Grove is taking a road trip to take on Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mulberry Grove will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Farina South Central, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Mulberry Grove never let Farina South Central get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Monday. The game was the first time the Aces have beaten the Cougars on their field since March 20, 2017.

Farina South Central's batters probably weren't too happy with Lily Johnson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up two walks). That's the most strikeouts Johnson has posted since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Mulberry Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Stone, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro got the win against Ramsey on Wednesday by a conclusive 16-1. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Hiltoppers this season.
Ella Schaake made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Schaake was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Lainey Lessman was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Ella Greenwood was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Hillsboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
The win got Mulberry Grove back to even at 1-1. As for Hillsboro, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
