McConnellsburg hasn't had much luck against Southern Fulton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Indians at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (McConnellsburg 3.6, Southern Fulton 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, McConnellsburg beat Claysburg-Kimmel 7-2. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Hoyt Glenn was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for McConnellsburg: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Southern Fulton is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Meyersdale on Friday, but Meyersdale came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Red Raiders, sneaking past 5-3. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly two runs.
Jett Burger was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Austin Mann, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Southern Fulton pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for McConnellsburg, their record is now 5-3.
McConnellsburg might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Southern Fulton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
