It was a good run, but the Colorado Academy Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lutheran. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Colorado Academy has scored all season.
Colorado Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Bratis, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Simeon Woldeyohannes was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 11 assists.
It was another big night for Braydon Jacob, who scored 29 points along with four steals for Lutheran. The game was Jacob's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kade Speckman, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and six blocks.
Colorado Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1. As for Lutheran, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2.
Colorado Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Jefferson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Eagle Ridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
