Madison Academy dropped down to 7-2 on Friday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They lost 49-27 to the Plainview Bears. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Despite the loss, Madison Academy still got an impressive performance from Charleston Owens, who rushed for 149 yards on only eight carries, and also threw for 163 yards and one touchdown.
