South Allegheny suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Quaker Valley by a score of 54-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as South Allegheny came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Quaker Valley is ranked 312th).
East Allegheny has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for South Allegheny, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
