High Desert recap November 13, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rosamond, who defeated 795th ranked Bishop, 17-14. Sergio Page caught 7 passes for 90 yards in the win.
The Roadrunners scaled the state rankings by moving to 992 from 1,021 this week, the biggest jump in High Desert. Rosamond was able to move up by besting the Broncos 17-14.
Garett Rennie was a key player and the best on defense this week as Kris Krempien's team bested Bishop. The 6-foot-1 senior racked up 1 sacks.
Aldrick Oliver was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 98 yards on 19 carries as the Roadrunners beat Bill Egan's team. Ian Bowen also contributed to the rushing game with 33 yards on the ground.
Kern Valley's Dalton Gallis and Cody Little have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Gallis has thrown for 2,037 yards this season, while Little has 38 catches for 736 yards. The Broncos' Dustin Wassdorp leads the league in rushing yards with 1,067.
The top two teams in High Desert will face off this week when first place Kern Valley takes on second place Frazier Mountain. The Broncs fell to Desert last week, while Frazier Mountain topped California City.
Riley Daniels of the the Falcons is only 14 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 137 carries Daniels has accumulated 986 yard this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Ben Goffinet and Brandon Deckard's team takes on Frazier Mountain. The Broncs have allowed 170 points this season, while Russell Heasley's team has given up 281. Kern Valley allowed 40 points last week as it lost to the Scorpions.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Broncs and the Falcons face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Kern Valley comes in having scored 358 this season, while Frazier Mountain has scored 256. The Broncs scored 9 points last week as they fell to Desert.
Kern Valley fell to Chris Hinton's team 40-9 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zach Bushling was a bright spot for the Broncs, as he ran for 48 yards and caught 5 passes for 57 yards in the loss.
