Victor has won four straight games at home, while Irondequoit has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will welcome the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Victor had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Churchville-Chili on Saturday. The Blue Devils blew past the Saints 3-0. The Blue Devils not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since October 17th (when they won 3-0).
The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Irondequoit extended their postseason success on Saturday against Canandaigua Academy. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Gray Wolves.
Irondequoit was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10, 24-26, 25-8.
Victor better keep an eye on Aleah Nolan. She was instrumental in Irondequoit's win, getting ten digs and six aces. That's the most aces Nolan has posted since back in September.
Irondequoit was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 24 consecutive contests.
Irondequoit's victory bumped their record up to 23-5-3. As for Victor, their win bumped their record up to 24-7-4.
Victor beat Irondequoit 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
