Basketball Recap: Academy of Science and Innovation Piles Up the Points Against Bulkeley

Academy of Science and Innovation won the last time they faced Bulkeley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens really took it to the Bulkeley Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-31 victory. With the Ravens ahead 30-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Academy of Science and Innovation had a senior duo take command as Mohammad Kulaib went 12 of 16 on his way to 24 points in addition to five boards and four steals and Ibrahim Sidik dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kulaib has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wilbert Franco, who posted five points.

Academy of Science and Innovation smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Academy of Science and Innovation's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Bulkeley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Academy of Science and Innovation wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-42 victory against Bassick on the 10th. As for Bulkeley, they will square off against Civic Leadership at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
