The Robertson Cardinals came tearing into Monday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Moriarty 55-20 at home. Given Robertson's advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Moriarty is ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Robertson can attribute much of their success to Lovely Allemand, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Alyxa King-Greenwalt, who scored five points along with two steals and two blocks.
Robertson pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Moriarty, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robertson will take on Santa Fe Indian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Moriarty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Los Alamos at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Los Alamos has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
