Quincy hasn't had much luck against Geneseo recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Maple Leafs at 4:30 p.m. Quincy has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Quincy managed to slip by Rock Island the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Devils lost 12-2 to the Rocks on Tuesday.
Quincy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Ellefritz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Geneseo scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Ottawa by a score of 19-18. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (15), the Maple Leafs still had to take the loss.
Geneseo got a massive performance out of Remlee Dwyer, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Penny Kline, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and two RBI.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Quincy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Geneseo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Quincy suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Geneseo in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
