Owens Valley is 0-4 against Big Pine since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Owens Valley Cubs will head out on the road to challenge the Big Pine Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Owens Valley couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by Trona at home and fell 76-30. Owens Valley has not had much luck with Trona recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Big Pine's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Baker.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Noah Ericson, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wil Mairs, who scored 12 points.
Owens Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Big Pine, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7.
Owens Valley came up short against Big Pine in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, falling 54-43. Can Owens Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
