Basketball Game Preview: Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets vs. Kickapoo Panthers

Wauzeka-Steuben has gone 8-2 against Kickapoo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Kickapoo Panthers at 7:15 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Wauzeka-Steuben came up short against North Crawford and fell 55-44. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Trojans are ranked 101st).

Meanwhile, Kickapoo had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Chieftains 78-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted since January 6th.

Kickapoo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Wauzeka-Steuben, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Wauzeka-Steuben came up short against Kickapoo in their previous matchup back in January, falling 51-39. Can Wauzeka-Steuben avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
