After flying high against Stuart W. Cramer  last Tuesday, South Point came back down to earth. The South Point Red Raiders received a  blow  on Friday as they fell  83-65 to the Huss Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 218th, while the Huskies are ranked 66th).

  Jaishawn Woods and  OB Lowery Jr. certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss.  Woods  went 10 for 22  on his way to 29 points and three  steals, while  Lowery Jr.  posted 24  points. Lowery Jr.'s evening made it seven games in a row in which  he has scored at least 17 points.  Tony Missouri was another key player,  putting up six points and 12  boards.
 Huss found their leader in freshman  Jaleel Smith, who  went 12 of 24  en route to 27  points in addition to seven  rebounds and three  steals. Smith is  crushing it when it comes to  steals: he's   grabbed at least two every time he's  taken the court this season.  Fred Nelson also deserves some recognition as  he  posted his first  block of the season.
South Point's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Huss, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record  this season.
 Looking ahead, South Point will face off against Crest at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Crest knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matchups -- so hopefully South Point likes a good challenge. As for Huss, they will square off against Stuart W. Cramer at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Huss is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.2  points per game  this season.
