Basketball Recap: Sky View Drops Highest Score of Season Against West Field

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sky View had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the West Field Longhorns 76-35. The Bobcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, West Field still got an impressive performance from Ella Doxey, who posted 11 points. What's more, Doxey also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jalyn Coombs was another key player, going 6-for-15 en route to 15 points.

Sky View has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points over those games. As for West Field, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bobcats challenge the Lions at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Payson sitting on four straight victories and Sky View on five. West Field does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
