The Carrollton Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Standish-Sterling Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carrollton is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Even though Michigan Lutheran Seminary scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Carrollton still came out on top. Carrollton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 win over Michigan Lutheran Seminary. That looming 57-55 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Carrollton yet this season.
Meanwhile, Standish-Sterling didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Ogemaw Heights on Friday, but they still walked away with a 43-39 win. Given Standish-Sterling's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Ogemaw Heights is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carrollton's record now sits at 1-5. As for Standish-Sterling, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Carrollton ended up a good deal behind Standish-Sterling in their previous matchup back in January, losing 58-43. Can Carrollton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
