They came out on top against Norcross by a score of 55-45. Given Myers Park's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fourth in North Carolina, while Norcross is ranked 74th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Myers Park was led to victory by Sir Mohammed and Sadiq White Jr.. Mohammed scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five assists, while White Jr. scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which White Jr. has scored at least 25% of Myers Park's points. Josh Hines was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Myers Park's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Norcross, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Myers Park is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Garner at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th. Garner knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Myers Park likes a good challenge.
