Basketball Game Preview: George Walton Academy Bulldogs vs. Lakeview Academy Lions

George Walton Academy is 1-9 against Lakeview Academy since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The George Walton Academy Bulldogs will square off against the Lakeview Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. George Walton Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, George Walton Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Loganville Christian Academy, taking the game 47-38. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Lions are ranked 119th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

George Walton Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lora Kate Malcom out in front who went 10 of 13 on her way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave Malcom a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Hill, who posted eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Lakeview Academy got the win against Loganville Christian Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 61-39. Lakeview Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

George Walton Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Lakeview Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

George Walton Academy came up short against Lakeview Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 45-35. Can George Walton Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
