The Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 82-61 walloping at the hands of Savannah Country Day. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Hilton Head Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Harrison Skinner scored 25 points along with five steals. Elijah White was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Leading Savannah Country Day to victory were Robert Spaulding iv and Rudy Anderson. Spaulding iv scored 17 points along with six assists and four steals, while Anderson scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Nicholson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Hilton Head Christian Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Savannah Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilton Head Christian Academy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Woodville-Tompkins at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Woodville-Tompkins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully Hilton Head Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Savannah Country Day, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Savannah Christian at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Savannah Country Day is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
