Quilcene has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Crosspoint Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. Quilcene comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
On Wednesday, Quilcene was beaten by Muckleshoot Tribal 52-7. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Quilcene in their matchups with Muckleshoot Tribal: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Crosspoint had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.5 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They blew past Puget Sound Adventist 52-2 on the road. Crosspoint has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 26 points or more this season.
Anna Kuske and Maggie Fraser were among the main playmakers for Crosspoint as the former scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals and the latter scored seven points along with six steals. Fraser has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lucy Wasson, who scored four points along with four steals.
Quilcene dropped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.7 points per game. As for Crosspoint, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
Quilcene took a serious blow against Crosspoint when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 50-10. Can Quilcene avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
