After losing to The Classical Academy Titans the last time they met, the Berthoud Spartans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Berthoud walked away with a 53-46 win over The Classical Academy on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Berthoud.
Berthoud's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Callies, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Stratmeyer, who scored 11 points.
Berthoud's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for The Classical Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berthoud will take on University at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully University focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Thursday. As for The Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Falcon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Falcon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
