Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Valencia Vikings, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-24 walloping at the hands of Servite on Friday. Valencia's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Valencia still got an impressive performance from Brian Bonner, who picked up 173 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Bonner's longest reception was for an incredible 87 yards.
Servite got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quaid Carr out in front who rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Carr hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Servite also got help from Aidan O'callaghan who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Servite's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Valencia's QB won't forget Tomas Cernius anytime soon given Cernius sacked him four times.
Valencia's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Servite, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Valencia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Servite's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Long Beach Poly at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Long Beach Poly is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
