The Ness City Eagles were the 43-30 winner over the LaCrosse Leopards when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Ness City fell to the Leopards 38-32. Ness City's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Ness City had strong showings from Ashlyn Tillitson, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and two steals, and Angela Tavarez, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Tillitson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played.
Ness City struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
McKaylee Day was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Madison Morgan, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Ness City's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for LaCrosse, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ness City will take on the Kats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Chase comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for LaCrosse, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
