Freeman has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Colville Crimson Hawks at 5:45 p.m. on December 15th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Thursday, Freeman faced West Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Freeman fell just short of West Valley by a score of 55-52.
Freeman's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Colton Wells, who scored 21 points, and Micah Hodges who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Tanner Goldsmith was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Colville, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They were outmatched by Riverside on the road and fell 68-31. While losing is never fun, Colville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Riverside is ranked 134th).
Freeman's defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Colville, they bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Freeman against Colville in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 85-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freeman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
