After losing to the Saddle River Day Rebels the last time they met, the St. Joseph Regional Green Knights decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. St. Joseph Regional strolled past Saddle River Day with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 55-41. Given St. Joseph Regional's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Saddle River Day is ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Joseph Regional got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Brown out in front who scored 11 points. Anthony Pacciarelli was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for St. Joseph Regional and bumps their season record up to 12-7. As for Saddle River Day, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
St. Joseph Regional won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully St. Joseph Regional focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Saddle River Day, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Cliffside Park at 11:30 a.m.
