Softball Recap: Westlake Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

Westlake was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Syracuse on Saturday. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Titans. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Audrey Sherman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ryan Pead was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Westlake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Westlake has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Syracuse, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Westlake has already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Weber on the 19th. As for Syracuse, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-7 defeat against Logan on the 19th.
