Basketball Recap: Phillip Ladua Key Part of a Team Effort in Panthers Win

West hadn't done well against Roy recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The West Panthers secured a 67-62 W over the Roy Royals. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 70-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.

West's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Phillip Ladua, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Those 23 points gave Ladua a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Albertson, who posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and six steals.

West was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Roy lost, don't look at Colby Frokjer. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 13 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Boston Greenhalgh, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

West now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Roy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

West will head out to take on Juan Diego Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Juan Diego Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62 points per game this season. As for Roy, they will look to defend their home court on December 27th against Mountain Crest at 5:00 p.m.
