Cassville extended the longest winning streak in Big 8 this week by beating East Newton, 42-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Carl Junction's dynamic duo of Dustin Satterlee and Matt Magee proved tough for Seneca to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Satterlee threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns and Magee had 59 yards receiving. Kris Bird helped Carl Junction's passing attack out by catching three balls for 36 yards.
Calvin Bremmerkamp made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs fell to the Indians. The junior recorded one fumble.
Everett Basham was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 197 yards on 34 carries as Aurora lost to Seneca. Kurt Hadlow also contributed to the rushing game with 16 yards on the ground.
Jesse Wall's team's Satterlee and Magee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Satterlee has thrown for 1231 yards this season, while Magee has 32 catches for 402 yards. Mt. Vernon's Shane Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 819.
A big matchup in Big 8 this week will be when the Houn Dawgs take on Cassville. Aurora is currently in sixth, while David Large's team is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Bulldogs and the Mountaineers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Carl Junction comes in having scored 163 this season, while Mt. Vernon has scored 162. The Bulldogs scored 14 points last week as they lost to Dale Sanders' team.
The Indians led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Carl Junction.
