Soccer Recap: Crosstown Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Memphis Rise Academy kept up with Crosstown until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Explorers put the hurt on Memphis Rise Academy with a sharp 3-0 win. Considering Crosstown have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Joan Marquez and Terell Clayton scored all three of Crosstown's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

The victory (which was Crosstown's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Memphis Rise Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Crosstown and Memphis Rise Academy will both be playing Douglass the next time they take the pitch. Memphis Rise Academy will host the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Explorers will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
