TAPPS Division II District 4 recap September 10, 2013
Fort Bend Christian Academy's Josh Washington rumbled for the longest rushing play in TAPPS Division II District 4 this season in his game against St. Paul last week. Washington ran for 53 yards on the play and finished with 66 on the day as his team bested the Cardinals.
Westbury Christian moved up to 605 from 721 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Episcopal 54-6.
Lutheran South Academy's dynamic duo of Trent Franson and Jordan Barton proved tough for Cypress Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Franson threw for 127 yards and Barton had 70 yards receiving. Kyle Hutchins helped Lutheran South Academy's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 61 yards.
The Pioneers' dynamic duo of Franson and Barton proved to be unstoppable against the Warriors, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Barton was the best wideout in the league this week as Lutheran South Academy topped Cypress Christian.
Franson put up the best numbers through the air as Stephen Robbins' team topped Jacob Spenn's team.
Jake Bruns provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Fort Bend Christian Academy defeated St. Paul. He completed 6 passes for 92 yards and also ran for 138 yards.
Bruns was the best running back in TAPPS Division II District 4 this week. Justin Wherry also contributed to the rushing game with 71 yards on the ground.
The Pioneers' Franson and Barton have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Franson has thrown for 253 yards this season, while Barton has 14 catches for 152 yards. David Roberts' team's Bruns leads the league in rushing yards with 222.
Westbury Christian lost to the Knights 54-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
