It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Hampton Bulldogs can now relate to. They took a serious blow against York Institute on Friday, falling 56-13. Hampton's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead York Institute to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riylin Miller, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Miller was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 68 yards. Myles Leffew was another key contributor, throwing for 177 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes.
Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for York Institute, they have yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 13-0 record.
Hampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. York Institute will be playing in front of their home fans against East Robertson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Robertson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
