Basketball Recap: Kyle Harvin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Indian Creek over Mt. Zion Prep Academy

Indian Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 87-81 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (56), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyle Harvin, who posted 27 points. The contest was Harvin's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nick Parris, who earned 21 points.

Indian Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Indian Creek will take on Sts. Peter & Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Indian Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, they will face off against The Rock National at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Zion Prep Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully The Rock National likes a good challenge.
