The HEARTS for Jesus Christ Guardians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 65-34 win over Horizon Science Academy on the road. Considering HEARTS for Jesus Christ has won five matches by more than 26 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead HEARTS for Jesus Christ to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maria Cottenden, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The game was Cottenden's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Zelenka, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
HEARTS for Jesus Christ has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Horizon Science Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Christian Community the next time they take the court. HEARTS for Jesus Christ will head out to face Christian Community at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Horizon Science Academy will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
