The Pace Academy Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 28 points or more this season. They blew past Mt. Zion 85-40 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Pace Academy has managed all season.
Pace Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chandler Bing led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Greene, who scored nine points along with nine assists and five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Mt. Zion lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Jaki Bell. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. The game was Bell's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jacques Grimes was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Pace Academy's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Mt. Zion, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Pace Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Milton at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. Milton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Pace Academy is ranked 11th). As for Mt. Zion, they will head out on the road to face off against North Clayton at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully North Clayton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
