The Berrien Springs Shamrocks will head out on the road to face off against the Michigan Lutheran Titans at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Berrien Springs took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Schoolcraft, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Shamrocks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Eagles 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Shamrocks have posted since April 22nd.

Tye Robinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Brewer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Berrien Springs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ethan McCrary, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Berrien Springs hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, while Michigan Lutheran put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for River Valley. The Titans were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Mustangs. Considering the Titans have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Berrien Springs, Michigan Lutheran also got a great game from a two-way player: Ben Liebich. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over seven innings pitched. Liebich has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Colton Stegman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Michigan Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Berrien Springs, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-11.
Berrien Springs came out on top in a nail-biter against Michigan Lutheran in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shamrocks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
