Notre Dame Academy has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Furtah Prep Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Notre Dame Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Notre Dame Academy beat the Wildcats 39-27.
Notre Dame Academy relied on the efforts of Marta Losada, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, and Cara Amadi, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Losada has scored all season. Faustina Barcena was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 13 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Furtah Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of The King's Academy. Furtah Prep has struggled against the Knights recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Notre Dame Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. As for Furtah Prep, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Notre Dame Academy came up short against the Falcons in their previous matchup last Tuesday, falling 41-31. Can Notre Dame Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
