Sam Houston has been on the road for eight straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mansfield Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Sam Houston earned a 62-49 win over South San Antonio West. The win was just what Sam Houston needed coming off of a 91-53 loss in their prior game.
Sam Houston got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylan Austin out in front who scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Austin has scored at least 25% of Sam Houston's points. Eddie Chavez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Mansfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Wilson on Friday, taking the game 56-48.
The losses dropped Sam Houston to 3-7 and South San Antonio West to 1-5.
