Baseball Game Preview: Pleasanton Blu-Jays vs. Crest Lancers

Pleasanton is 1-9 against Crest since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Pleasanton will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Crest at 2:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Monday, Pleasanton made easy work of Oswego and carried off a 16-6 win. The Blu-Jays haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Kamden Staton, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Johnson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Crest got the win against St. Paul on Monday by a conclusive 19-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Drake Weir made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Henry White was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Will Disbrow was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Crest has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Pleasanton, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.
