The Waterford Ravens won the last time they faced the Maeser Prep Academy Lions, and things went their way on Friday too. Waterford came out on top against Maeser Prep Academy by a score of 54-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Waterford.
Carter Nielson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Julian Cheffings, who scored seven points along with five assists and two steals.
Waterford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Maeser Prep Academy, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterford will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Rowland Hall at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Rowland Hall focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Maeser Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Maeser Prep Academy is ranked 127th, while American Leadership Academy is ranked 114th).
