The Calvary Christian Academy Conquerors waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They took down Johnstown Christian 63-45. Given Calvary Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Johnstown Christian is ranked 746th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyrell Lapp was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Micah Lloyd was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Calvary Christian Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Johnstown Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Calvary Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against DuBois Christian at 7:00 p.m. As for Johnstown Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Blair County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
