The Greenwich Cardinals put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Westhill on the road to the tune of 43-8. Greenwich might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 35 points or more this season.
Greenwich was led to victory by Rocco Grillo and Ian Kim. Grillo threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, while Kim rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Sebastian Parra got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Greenwich's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points per game. As for Westhill, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Greenwich will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ridgefield at 7:00 p.m. Ridgefield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Greenwich is ranked seventh). As for Westhill, they will head out on the road to face off against Trumbull at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trumbull is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
