Oak Harbor is 0-5 against Snohomish since March of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Oak Harbor Wildcats take on Snohomish Panthers at 12:00 p.m. Snohomish took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Oak Harbor, who comes in off a win.
Oak Harbor made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Blaine, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Oak Harbor put the hurt on Blaine with a sharp 14-3 victory on Thursday. The game marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season so far.

Reese Wasinger made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Haylee Burleigh was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Layla Suto, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Oak Harbor hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blaine struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Snohomish's offense. They lost 6-0 to Monroe on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Oak Harbor pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Snohomish, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Oak Harbor hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Snohomish struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Oak Harbor might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Snohomish when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Can Oak Harbor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
