The Eastern Tech Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 37 points or more this season. They took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 71-29 victory over Sparrows Point. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Eastern Tech has managed all season.
Eastern Tech can attribute much of their success to Talan Brooks, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jericho Wondeye, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Eastern Tech and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Sparrows Point, they bumped their record down to 1-2 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Eastern Tech will face off against Carver A&T at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carver A&T comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Sparrows Point will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eastern Tech at 5:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
