The Dunbar Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 69-17 loss at the hands of Tri-County North. Dunbar was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-7.
Tri-County North was led to victory by Bella Cherry and Hannah Webster. Cherry scored 22 points along with two steals, while Webster dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds. Cherry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Rylie Myers was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Dunbar dropped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.6 points per game. As for Tri-County North, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Dunbar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tri-County North will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
