After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Leon, the Wakulla War Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Altha 74-31 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Wakulla has managed all season.
Wakulla's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Jones led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Justin Carter, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Wakulla pushed their record up to 10-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Altha, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wakulla will square off against the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chiles will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Altha, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on January 31st. Hopefully Freeport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday.
