Baseball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Takes a Loss

Lake Highland Prep lost against Montverde Academy back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Lake Highland Prep fell just short of Montverde Academy by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Highlanders have suffered since February 20th.

Manny Socarras made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Jones, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lake Highland Prep dropped their record down to 7-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Montverde Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Lake Highland Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-4 defeat against Middlesex on the 21st. As for Montverde Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-2 win against Benjamin on the 25th.
