Rosman is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Avery County.
Rosman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quintin Forbes, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was Forbes' first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mountain Heritage). They blew past Mitchell 14-8 on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Caden Carrol made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Levi McCurry was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Deyton, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Mountain Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Rosman's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Mountain Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rosman has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mountain Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rosman suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Mountain Heritage when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
